Vintage MINT condition, circa 1940’s traditional Indonesian “SAWAT” batik; the motif of large wings represents the “GARUDA WHICH ACCORDING TO LEGEND A BIRDLIKE CREATURE” This batik was part of my aunt’s collection. This batik incorporates the Garuda, leafy tendrils, flower buds and butterflies Colors are black, browns and tan. Length is approx. 107” and width is approx 41”. A beautiful, finely woven batik.
