Reproduction of Gillinder & Sons' Westward Ho Frosted Embossed Lidded CompoteThis is a reproduction of Early American Pattern Glass by Gillinder & Sons in Philadelphia, USA.
This is a footed-glass compote with a representation of an American Indian as the finial on the lid. The frosted area represents the actual pattern name, Western Ho, which includes the depiction of a romanticized image of the pioneer's life. It shows the sun rising over his log cabin, a buffalo, a stag and the settler's land with railroad tracks in the background.
This compote is 10 3/4" high from the bottom to the top of the finial. The bowl is 4 1/2" in diameter and is 6" high, the top piece is 4 1/2" high. The base is 4" in diameter. The whole piece weighs 2 lb.1 ounce.
Excellent shape, shows no excessive wear, cracks or chips.
