RARE- Antique Metal Hat Markers - Universal Hat Mark Co. 1898

Description

Antique Metal Hat Markers - Universal Hat Mark Co. Providence RI.  Patented Feb. 8, 1898.
These markers are each imprinted with a letter and would have been used by the owner to clip on his hat to be able to identify it after it had been checked with a coat at either a restaurant or other establishment.  The end tab would have been folded over the brim of the hat and the initial would be that of the owner of the hat.  Very unique items as this is no longer a common practice of men wearing hats.  Please contact me if you have any questions or would like any additional pictures.  Thank you.
