Aslan was a French painter, sculptor, and pin-up artist who is best known for his contributions to the French erotic magazine Lui.
Aslan described himself as an “intimate hyper-figurative painter,” and was philosophically opposed to abstract art movements, believing instead that the female figure was the greatest subject for an artist.
Born on May 23, 1930 in Bordeaux, France he went on to study at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris at just 16 years of age.
He also notably sculpted in 1970 the Fifth Republic Marianne as Brigitte Bardot ( a symbol of French Culture ) with scandalously visible cleavage.
He died on February 11, 2014 in Sainte-Adéle, Canada.
